Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations for the rental period. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Airdrie, you must be at least 21 years old, though age requirements may differ based on the vehicle model, with extra fees applicable for drivers under 25. A valid full driving licence for the vehicle category is required, held for the duration stated in the Rental Agreement. You must also present valid identification, proof of your current address, and acceptable payment details, including a security deposit. Additional stipulations may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Airdrie Booking and Payment
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Airdrie office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and security deposit are generally payable upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment platforms.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collection of your vehicle, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and must be signed by both parties. To avoid additional charges, return the vehicle in the same condition as received, accounting for standard wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may result in fees. The vehicle should also be returned with the same fuel level as at the start of your rental; otherwise, refueling charges will apply. Late returns could incur extra fees, so please inform us promptly if you anticipate being late. You will be liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, along with an administrative fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- Basic third-party insurance comes standard with all vehicle rentals. Detailed coverage information and excess amounts are outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to lower your financial exposure. Reviewing these options is advisable. You will be accountable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount, except where additional insurance applies. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of any insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows could incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited vehicle uses:
- The vehicle must not be used for illegal activities. Activities such as racing, rallying, or off-roading are prohibited. Transporting hazardous materials is also not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purposes, adhering to passenger and weight limits. Additionally, driving outside of the agreed geographical areas requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Limitation of Responsibility
To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law in Airdrie, Car Hire disclaims any responsibility for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our overall liability for any claims will not surpass the total rental amount paid in the past 12 months. This limitation does not affect liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
Airdrie Legal Framework
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. All disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this region.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect as soon as they are published on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
